Principal Product Manager (Agentic Automation)

UiPath•Bellevue, WA
•$220,000 - $255,000

About The Position

UiPath is seeking a Principal Product Manager to advance its Agentic Automation vision. The role sets product direction for how UiPath and third-party coding agents build and operate automations, how UiPath’s coding agents and Autopilots evolve, and how non-deterministic agents perform tasks within complex business processes. This includes emerging patterns such as skills and tool surfaces for external coding agents, agent-to-agent handoffs, human-in-the-loop checkpoints, combinations of deterministic workflows and non-deterministic reasoning, and agent evaluation and observability. This is a high-agency, AI-native product role focused on hands-on work rather than status meetings. The product manager will test and prototype with coding agents, engage with customers and FDEs, and turn discoveries into clear direction for engineering teams. Success means helping builders create automations faster and enabling agents to reliably perform real work in production, including demanding enterprise processes. The role also translates developments in the agent landscape into a coherent UiPath product direction, defines meaningful product metrics, and represents UiPath’s agentic automation approach to customers, partners, and industry forums. Many UiPath roles offer flexibility in when and where work is done; the balance of hybrid, office-based, and remote work varies by team and business needs.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years in technical product management or engineering, with emphasis on automation, workflow/orchestration platforms, developer platforms, or applied agentic AI.
  • A proven record of shipping infrastructure that builders rely on.
  • Prior experience building business process orchestration, workflow engines, or agent platforms, including systems coordinating work across steps, services, and actors.
  • Deep fluency in agentic AI, including tool-calling, MCP, coding agents, agent design patterns, computer use, evaluations, and observability.
  • Ability to inspect agent traces and identify problems.
  • A clear point of view on how deterministic automation and non-deterministic agents should work together in real business processes.
  • Hands-on builder approach: able to write code or direct coding agents to test ideas and ship prototypes.
  • First-principles thinking and comfort with ambiguity; able to develop a defensible direction quickly.
  • Strong communication skills, including writing persuasive position documents, explaining technical concepts to skeptical architects, and presenting demos.
  • Comfort working with regulated, on-premises, and hybrid environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience building automation, orchestration, developer-platform, or agent products at a frontier lab, hyperscaler, RPA/automation vendor, or as an early product manager at a startup.
  • Experience taking a product from 0 to 1; startup or founding product manager experience is strongly preferred.
  • Well-supported views on the direction of agentic automation over the next 24 months.

Responsibilities

  • Own the multi-year vision for how UiPath and third-party agents build and operate automations across the platform.
  • Design skills, tools, and APIs that enable external coding agents to author, run, and debug automations on UiPath.
  • Evolve UiPath’s coding agents (Autopilots), including their building capabilities, process reasoning, and handoffs to people and other agents.
  • Define how non-deterministic agents fit into complex business processes alongside deterministic workflows, with clear usage contracts.
  • Partner with demanding customers on production deployments and investigate failures and their remedies in detail.
  • Use the platform to build: set up agents, integrate them into real processes, and use coding agents to prototype and ship reference implementations.
  • Translate developments in agent tools, skills, orchestration frameworks, evaluations, and computer-use models into product direction and shipped products.
  • Define relevant product metrics, such as task success rate, automation build time, human interventions per run, and production reliability, and prioritize accordingly.
  • Represent UiPath’s agentic automation story to customers, partners, and industry forums.
