About The Position

Phenom is seeking a Principal Product Manager to join its platform team. The role drives strategy and development of reusable platform capabilities that power multiple products across the talent lifecycle. The position focuses on identifying customer and product needs that can be addressed through shared, governed components rather than one-off features, and determining which capabilities should become reusable platform primitives. The Principal Product Manager owns the strategy and roadmap for core platform components, including their extensibility patterns, governance, and integration contracts. The role partners closely with engineering and product teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and secure capabilities, encourage adoption across the company, and balance platform consistency with individual product needs. It also engages enterprise customers and technical administrators, prototypes and validates new capabilities—especially AI-powered ones—from concept through production, and defines success metrics and governance standards. This is an onsite role, five days per week, at Phenom’s Horsham, Pennsylvania location. Phenom describes itself as an AI-powered talent experience platform with more than 1,500 employees and offices in six countries.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of product management experience in SaaS, including meaningful experience owning platform, infrastructure, or shared-component product areas.
  • Demonstrated record of building reusable platform capabilities adopted and used by other product teams.
  • Track record of building and shipping AI-powered products from early prototypes through production scale.
  • Strong ability to partner with highly technical teams on backend or platform systems, with the technical fluency to earn their trust.
  • Experience owning ambiguous, evolving scope in a fast-moving organization and creating structure where none existed.
  • Habit of using AI tools in daily work, not merely advocating for AI in products.
  • Excellent judgment and communication, including the ability to move quickly, make decisions with incomplete information, and bring product, engineering, and customer-facing teams along.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with intelligence layers, workflow automation, or AI agents.

Responsibilities

  • Identify opportunities across Phenom’s product suite where shared, reusable capabilities provide more leverage than local solutions.
  • Own strategy and roadmaps for one or more core platform components, including extensibility patterns, governance, and integration contracts.
  • Partner with engineering to deliver reliable, scalable, and secure capabilities that power multiple products.
  • Work across product teams to drive adoption of platform capabilities and resolve tensions between platform consistency and individual product needs.
  • Engage enterprise customers and technical administrator users to balance flexibility with organizational guardrails.
  • Prototype and validate new capabilities, particularly AI-driven capabilities, from early concept through production, favoring fast, low-cost validation.
  • Define success metrics connecting platform investment to measurable adoption and business impact.
  • Establish governance standards to keep shared components trustworthy and consistent as usage scales.

Benefits

  • Programs to support holistic employee health.
  • Career pathing and development opportunities.
  • Perks and extras at each location.
