About The Position

Quizlet is hiring a Principal Product Manager for its Growth and Monetization team, which helps learners discover Quizlet, build study habits, and find value in free and paid experiences. The team brings growth and revenue together, with responsibility for the free experience, advertising, internationalization, and product-led growth loops, in close partnership with subscriptions and payments. The role shapes how Quizlet attracts, activates, and retains learners around the world. The Principal Product Manager defines growth strategy across the free experience, ads, internationalization, and growth loops, translating insights about learner needs and behavior into experiences that support engagement and sustainable revenue. This is a senior individual-contributor role working across Engineering, Design, Data Science, Marketing, and Ads Revenue Operations. It calls for identifying opportunities beyond the current roadmap, aligning teams on high-value problems, and leading delivery across product surfaces. Decisions connect free learner value, ad revenue, and long-term subscription adoption. The company is also open to hiring at the Senior Staff level, depending on experience and demonstrated scope. At Principal level, the role shapes strategy across the growth portfolio and influences adjacent teams. At Senior Staff level, it leads major initiatives across multiple experiences and helps define the broader growth direction. This is a hybrid position based in Quizlet’s San Francisco office. Employees are asked to work in the office at least two days per week, on Wednesday and Thursday.

  • Experience using AI to improve product discovery, experimentation, or growth experiences, with clear evidence of customer or business impact.

Responsibilities

  • Define growth strategy by identifying audiences, learner needs, and product opportunities; set portfolio priorities and align partners on a roadmap balancing near-term impact with longer-term opportunities.
  • Improve onboarding, activation, and repeat engagement in the free experience by helping learners discover useful study tools and reach value quickly; partner with Learning Experience teams to build lasting study habits.

  • Work with subscriptions and payments product managers to define free and paid journeys, assess downstream value, resolve tradeoffs, and use cohort behavior and lifetime value to guide investment across audiences and markets.
  • Build a rigorous experimentation practice: define hypotheses, improve instrumentation with Data Science and Engineering, run experiments with clear success criteria, and account for seasonality, acquisition mix, and longer-term effects before scaling results.
