About The Position

Asurion is hiring a Senior or Principal Product Manager to own the agent behind Joy.ai, its AI-native tech concierge. The role owns the agent’s reasoning runtime, its orchestration across skills, tools, and other agents, and the evaluation systems used to determine whether it is useful, trustworthy, and ready for customers. This is a hands-on product-building position. The Product Manager will turn ambiguous household problems—such as a cracked tablet, stalled activation, claim, or multi-carrier upgrade—into prototypes, evaluations, launch scopes, and shipped agent capabilities. The role works closely with engineering, design, data science, and domain teams. During the first six months, the person will own the agent’s quality bar end-to-end, establish the evaluation harness as the source of truth for shipping decisions, define agent-to-agent orchestration, and improve the reliability and breadth of Joy’s reasoning across high-value household journeys.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of product management experience.
  • Track record of 0-to-1 product development, taking a product from concept to first customers, revenue, or measurable business impact.
  • Experience using customer evidence, product metrics, and structured judgment to make high-stakes product decisions with incomplete information.
  • High agency with modern AI tools, such as Claude, Cursor, Codex, or equivalents, for prototyping, analysis, writing, testing, research, or workflow automation.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience building, prototyping, or shipping AI agents, LLM features, agent orchestration, workflow automation, or decision-support systems.
  • Strong intuition for agent evaluation and reliability, including evaluation harness design, offline versus online evaluations, hallucination and failure-mode analysis, human-in-the-loop design, permissions, auditability, and tracing or observability tools such as Braintrust, Sentry, LangSmith, or equivalents.
  • Experience managing design partner, Early Adopter, or lighthouse customer programs.
  • Strong product taste and ability to simplify complex, ambiguous household journeys into opinionated, trustworthy agent behavior customers understand and adopt.
  • Already building with AI through work, side projects, prototypes, internal tools, or hands-on experimentation.
  • Strong opinions about where agents should act autonomously, where humans must remain in control, and how to demonstrate the distinction with evaluations.
  • Candid about tradeoffs, including projects stopped, launches that missed, or bets changed in response to evidence.

Responsibilities

  • Own the Joy agent reasoning layer end-to-end, including the runtime loop for model calls, tool execution, and streamed events, from opportunity discovery and product thesis through launch, adoption, and iteration.
  • Shape how Joy interoperates with the broader Asurion stack.
  • Own evaluations as the product’s quality system, defining offline and online product-quality evaluations to measure whether the agent is useful, trustworthy, and ready for customer use.
  • Partner with engineering on reliable agent architecture, including evaluation harnesses, observability and tracing, human-in-the-loop controls, guardrails, and production readiness.
  • Build conviction through working demos, measurable evaluation results, customer discovery, and clear decision memos.
  • Align domain product managers, design, engineering, data science, field, legal, security, and executives around decisions needed to ship a breakthrough and dependable agent.
