About The Position

L3Harris is seeking a highly motivated candidate to serve as Principal, Business Development. This senior-level role is a key contributor to the development and execution of L3Harris Communications Systems’ annual operating plan and long-term strategic growth plan. The selected candidate will be responsible for maintaining and expanding current business while identifying, shaping, and capturing new opportunities within the Army tactical communications market. This position reports to the Director of Army Mission Critical Communications Business within the Communications & Spectrum Dominance (CSD) business segment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree with 12 years prior experience, Graduate Degree with 10 years prior experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience.

  • Experience working with Army executive agencies and stakeholder organizations, including C2-CFT, ACM-TR, CPE-I2N, CPE-ISW, CPE-Ground, and related organizations.
  • Proven experience identifying and capturing new business opportunities within the DoW market.
  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) from an accredited institution.
  • Experience supporting or working with the National Security Agency (NSA).
  • Experience working with Army National Guard, Army Reserve, and Active Army organizations.
  • Prior DoW industry experience, ideally in tactical communications, mission command, or related capability areas.
  • Deep understanding of DoW requirements development and acquisition processes.
  • Experience working with DoW prime system integrators.

Responsibilities

  • Meet or exceed annual operating plan objectives through effective business development and capture execution.
  • Identify, qualify, and lead the capture of new business opportunities within the Army tactical communications market.
  • Support the segment’s Strategic Growth Planning (SGP) and Annual Operating Plan (AOP) processes.
  • Develop and brief annual capture plans to business leadership and secure the resources needed to execute them.
  • Prepare and deliver executive-level briefings and presentations that support growth in both existing and emerging markets.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including account management, program management, product line management, engineering, and other core functional leaders across the segment and corporate organization.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the Army’s Next Generation Command and Control (NGC2) objectives and associated requirements.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of tactical waveforms, network architecture, and communications requirements relevant to the U.S. Army customer.
  • Coordinate growth and capture strategies across the Department of Ware (DoW) product portfolio and the broader CSD segment.
  • Apply strong communication, presentation, negotiation, collaboration, and cross-functional leadership skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of DoW requirements development and acquisition processes.
  • Ability to obtain a US Secret Security Clearance.
  • Ability to travel 25%.
