About The Position

This role provides pre-sales and/or post-sales technical customer support, including implementation, training, and maintenance support for Electronic Design Automation (EDA) and semiconductor intellectual property (IP). The position focuses on supporting customers in the areas of Backend Digital Design Implementation and Signoff, including Place and Route, Design Closure, and timing and power signoff. The engineer will guide customers on utilizing Cadence technologies, conduct technical presentations and product demonstrations, and drive technical evaluations and benchmarks. Collaboration with R&D is key to enhancing tools and methodologies. The role also involves driving the adoption of Cadence tools and technologies and amending design flows as needed. Capturing best practices from evaluations and benchmarks to improve future engagements is also a responsibility. Some telecommuting is permitted, and travel to various unanticipated sites throughout the United States is required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • Eight (8) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or in a related engineering occupation.
  • Utilize Tcl and perl programing skills to automate the design flows, generate reports for analysis, and improve design performance
  • Logic synthesis, floorplanning, digital place and route using implementation tools
  • Use signoff tools for Static Timing Analysis and parasitic extraction
  • Use power signoff tools for power integrity and signal integrity analyses
  • Engineering Change Order (ECO) fixing of physical Design Rule Checking (DRC) physical verification signoff tools
  • Analysis of tool log files and reports to draw conclusions and determine next steps for block design
  • Must be available to work on projects at various, unanticipated sites throughout the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Provide pre-sales and/or post-sales technical customer support including implementation, training, and maintenance support for Electronic Design Automation (EDA) and semiconductor intellectual property (IP).
  • Provide technical support to Cadence customers in the areas of Backend Digital Design Implementation and Signoff including Place and Route, Design Closure, and timing and power signoff.
  • Guide customers on how to best utilize Cadence technologies to achieve their design goals and meet project schedules.
  • Conduct technical presentations and product demonstrations.
  • Drive technical evaluations and benchmarks to success.
  • Work closely with R&D to enhance the tools and methodologies to meet and exceed customers’ requirements.
  • Drive adoption and proliferation of Cadence tools and technologies.
  • Amend and augment the flow as needed.
  • Capture best practices and lessons learned from current evaluations and benchmarks and utilize to improve efficiency and success rate in next engagements.
