About The Position

This role involves utilizing an engineering background to provide pre-sales and/or post-sales technical customer support, including implementation, training, and maintenance support for Electronic Design Automation (EDA) and semiconductor intellectual property (IP). The position requires providing in-depth technical assistance in collaboration with Research and Development (R&D) to support advanced verification flows and secure design wins. The Application Engineer will establish technical credibility and rapport with customers, becoming their go-to expert for technical inquiries. This role also involves championing customer needs, working closely with R&D and marketing to develop competitive solutions, understanding the competitive landscape, and differentiating Cadence’s offerings. Additionally, the role includes writing technical product literature, reviewing new product proposals, and taking on technical leadership roles in small teams. Some telecommuting is permitted, and availability to work on projects at various, unanticipated sites throughout the United States is required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  • Minimum four (4) years of experience in the job offered or in a related engineering occupation.
  • RTL design and verification using Hardware Description Languages such as SystemVerilog or Verilog
  • Synthesizable HDL coding and design methodology
  • Scripting and Automation using Python, Perl, or TCL
  • Computer architecture and System-on-Chip (SoC) design principles
  • Hardware verification methodologies and Testcase creation
  • High-Speed interface protocols, including PCIe, AXI, CHI, or DDR
  • Technical customer engagement and support in EDA/Semiconductor Industry
  • Performance analysis and optimization of emulated designs
  • Must be available to work on projects at various, unanticipated sites throughout the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizing engineering background, provide pre-sales and/or post-sales technical customer support including implementation, training, and maintenance support for Electronic Design Automation (EDA) and semiconductor intellectual property (IP).
  • Provide in-depth technical assistance in collaboration with Research and Development (R&D) to help support advanced verification flows to secure design wins.
  • Establish technical credibility and rapport with the customer and become the go-to expert for all of their technical inquiries and support.
  • Champion the customer needs and work closely with R&D and marketing to develop competitive and creative technical solutions.
  • Understand the competitive landscape and continuously work on differentiating Cadence’s solutions.
  • Write technical product literature such as application notes and technical articles.
  • Review new product proposals and device specifications.
  • Take on technical leadership roles in small team.
