About The Position

The Primary Care Physician Assistant will provide high-quality outpatient medical care to veterans in Oswego, New York. The position works collaboratively with an integrated primary care team (PACT) to deliver comprehensive care and support positive patient outcomes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in physician assistant studies; graduation from an accredited PA program.
• Combined academic training and primary or ambulatory care experience.
• Active, unrestricted state PA license.
• Credentialed and in good standing under applicable federal or veteran healthcare guidelines.
• Active DEA registration.

Nice To Haves

• Master’s degree in physician assistant studies preferred.
• Experience in a government or veteran healthcare setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Examine, diagnose, and treat primary care patients under physician supervision.
• Formulate and manage continuous patient treatment plans.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including X-rays, ECGs, and laboratory work.
• Prescribe medications and counsel patients on medication use, wellness, and mental health.
• Complete patient encounter documentation promptly and within 24 hours.
• Follow government and federal healthcare guidelines, formulary protocols, and compliance standards.
