About The Position

The Press Operator manufactures printed labels while continuously monitoring label quality and press conditions. This role follows safety requirements and customer specifications, performs press make-readies, operates and maintains the press, and accurately records material usage and time.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of experience as a printing press operator and/or training.
• Able to stand; use hands to feel and touch; reach with arms and hands; and talk and hear.
• Frequent walking is required.
• Occasionally climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Able to regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Follow all plant and corporate safety rules, procedures, and guidelines.
• Report safety concerns or issues to the immediate supervisor.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area by completing daily housekeeping assignments.
• Complete make-ready according to Job Ticket and Product Specification documents, using the correct print cylinders, inks, substrates, tooling, and anilox rollers.
• Complete required quality checks, including product-specification, visual, functional, and press-side checks.
• Operate the press to meet customer specifications while maintaining quality, minimizing waste, and optimizing press efficiency.
• Maintain consistent production quality, including checks for copy, color, registration, and ink adhesion, and ensure conformance with other quality checks.
• Complete procedures, work instructions, and quality measurements required by the BRC standard.
• Complete press make-readies efficiently.
• Perform required equipment maintenance duties.
• Clean plates, cylinders, and ink pans, and lubricate the press as needed.
• Accurately and promptly enter required material usage and time information into the GlobeTek system.
