About The Position

The Press Operator manufactures printed labels while continuously monitoring label quality and press conditions. The role follows plant and corporate safety requirements, completes press make-readies and quality checks, operates the press to customer specifications, maintains equipment, and accurately records material usage and time in the GlobeTek system. This position is on the 3rd shift.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of experience as a printing press operator and/or training.
• Ability to stand, use hands to finger, feel, and touch, reach with arms and hands, and talk and hear.
• Ability to walk frequently.
• Ability to occasionally climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Ability to regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds.
• Vision requirements include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

• Follow all plant and corporate safety rules, procedures, and guidelines.
• Report safety concerns or issues to the immediate supervisor.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area by completing daily housekeeping assignments.
• Complete make-ready according to Job Ticket and Product Specification documents, using the correct print cylinders, inks, substrates, tooling, and anilox rollers.
• Complete all required product specification, visual, functional, and press-side quality checks.
• Operate the press to customer specifications while maintaining quality, minimizing waste, and optimizing press efficiency.
• Maintain consistent quality during production runs, including checking copy, color, registration, and ink adhesion, and ensuring conformance with other quality checks.
• Complete procedures, work instructions, and quality measurements required by the BRC standard.
• Complete press make-readies efficiently.
• Perform required equipment maintenance duties.
• Clean plates, cylinders, and ink pans, and lubricate the press as needed.
• Enter material usage and time information accurately and promptly into the GlobeTek system.
