Position Summary: The purpose of this position is to operate extrusion handling systems.
Requirements
- Must have High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must have the ability to read, write and count.
- Must be able to read scale calipers and micrometers and understand the metric system.
- Must have demonstrated effective communications skills and the ability to be a team player.
- Must have the ability to learn the job duties within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the supervisor.
- Must be able to lift approximately 40-50 lbs.
Responsibilities
- Check orders and procedures for production.
- Inspect jigs and status of pallets before operation of equipment.
- Must be able to operate the following equipment and adjust as necessary: Head/tail stretcher, Cooling table, Saw table, Chip collector, Loading machine, Pallet conveyor, Aging oven.
- Examine products for quality and defects using visual observations as well as calipers, micrometers, and a Webster Hardness Tester. Notify management of quality issues and possible causes and corrections.
- Discard defective/imperfect product.
- Remove and weigh material scrap bin. Maintain supply of pallets and transfer full pallets by forklift.
- Review equipment at start of every shift and assist with repair.
- Complete and maintain production reports and reports of equipment utilization/repair.
- Maintain a clean work environment.
