About The Position

Cadence Academy Preschool is hiring a Preschool Teacher to support children’s learning and development as part of a teaching team. The teacher helps create a positive, safe, and engaging learning environment, works with colleagues to implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum, and communicates children’s daily milestones to their parents. The position is located in Fredericksburg, Virginia.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must meet all state preschool teacher requirements.

Nice To Haves

• Child Development Associate (CDA) or college degree in Early Childhood, Child Development, or a related field.
• Demonstrated classroom management skills.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of the teaching team to encourage a positive learning environment for all children at the center.
• Document and share important milestones in each child’s day with parents.
• Collaborate with preschool teachers and leaders to implement an engaging, developmentally appropriate curriculum.
• Respect and observe children’s interests, intervene when needed to maintain safety, and enhance play through language, toys, and activities.
• Encourage and model developmentally appropriate social behavior and expectations.
• Contribute ideas to a daily schedule that balances quiet and active, indoor and outdoor, and fine- and gross-motor activities.
