About The Position

The Preschool Bus Driver is responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and welfare of children, seniors, staff, and other passengers during bus transportation. This role involves operating a 25-passenger bus to transport students between various locations, maintaining the vehicle, and adhering to strict schedules. The driver will also communicate with staff and parents, read maps, prepare reports, and ensure compliance with all safety regulations.

Requirements

A valid commercial driver’s license or chauffeur license to operate a bus.
A clean driving record.
High School diploma or equivalent.
1-3 years of driving experience.
Flexibility in working hours to accommodate organization needs.
Ability to pass a fingerprint clearance test.
Must be 21 years of age.

Working for a childcare facility is a plus.

Responsibilities

Drive a 25-passenger bus to transport students between neighborhoods, schools, school activities, and programs.
Maintain the safe operating condition, fuel, and cleanliness of the vehicle, reporting any issues to the Director of Operations.
Follow strict time schedules for picking up and dropping off students.
Communicate with staff and parents to adjust routes and schedules as needed.
Read maps and follow written and verbal directions.
Prepare and submit reports on passenger numbers, trips, hours worked, mileage, fuel consumption, and fares.
Follow driving and child safety rules.
Ensure compliance with insurance, legal, health, and safety obligations.
Regulate heating, lighting, and ventilation systems for passenger comfort.
Conduct pre and post-event evaluations and report on outcomes.
Perform other duties as assigned.
