About The Position

The Prep Cook is responsible for preparing ingredients and supporting kitchen operations in accordance with established recipes, quality standards, and food safety regulations. This role ensures efficiency, organization, and consistency in all food preparation processes while maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment. This is a pre-opening role for a new resort set to open in Spring 2026.

Requirements

  • Previous kitchen or food preparation experience preferred
  • Basic knife skills and understanding of kitchen operations preferred
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Food Safety Certification required within 30 days of starting and must be re-certified as needed

Responsibilities

  • Prepare ingredients including chopping, slicing, portioning, marinating, and measuring according to recipes and production needs
  • Assist with daily food preparation for all menu items and stations
  • Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of prep areas, walk-ins, coolers, and storage spaces
  • Label, date, and properly store food items following food safety standards
  • Assist with receiving, rotating, and organizing inventory using FIFO practices
  • Support cooks and culinary leadership during service as needed
  • Properly use and maintain kitchen equipment, tools, and machinery
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations
  • Monitor product freshness and notify leadership of low inventory or quality concerns
  • Complete opening, closing, and side work duties as assigned
  • Maintain a safe work environment and follow all safety procedures
  • Communicate effectively with culinary and service teams
  • Other duties & responsibilities as assigned by Manager
