Prep Cook (Part Time)
About The Position
Culinaire is hiring a part-time Prep Cook at Meyerson in Dallas, Texas. The position prepares food and serves customers in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations. The schedule is Thursday through Saturday from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Sunday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Previous prep cooking experience is required. The pay rate is $19.00 to $22.00 per hour. Culinaire provides upscale food and beverage management services to national accounts including art museums, cultural landmarks, hotels, performing theaters, restaurants, and special event venues. Its stated priorities include associate career paths, safety, and success, along with providing quality food and service to clients and guests.
Requirements
- Previous prep cooking experience is required.
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position satisfactorily, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Responsibilities
- Obtain the daily production schedule and preparation requirements from the Chef.
- Prepare items on production sheets according to established quantities and recipes.
- Complete and follow daily production worksheets and waste log sheets.
- Taste completed meals to ensure quality.
- Operate and clean equipment according to department procedures after each use.
- Store, label, and date food items according to policy.
- Follow HACCP guidelines.
- Complete required documentation, reports, and logs.
- Comply with federal, state, and local health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures.
- Take customer orders and prepare items requiring short preparation time.
- Serve customers efficiently and in a friendly manner.
- Complete orders from steam tables and grills and serve customers at multiple stations.
- Use approved food recipes and production standards to ensure quality, serving temperatures, and standard portion control.
- Resolve customer concerns.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
