About The Position

Milk & Honey is a New Orleans-themed Southern brunch destination serving dishes from brunch through dinner. The Prep Cook supports culinary operations by preparing ingredients according to recipes and guidelines, helping with meal production, and working with the kitchen team to deliver quality food and a memorable guest experience. The role is in a hot, humid, fast-paced kitchen and requires maintaining sanitation, cleanliness, and safe equipment operation.

Requirements

Previous experience in a high-volume kitchen or food preparation role is preferred.
Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Visual acuity to monitor food presentation, cleanliness, and safety standards.
Ability to communicate clearly in a noisy kitchen environment.
Able to work flexible shifts and schedules, including weekends and holidays.
Able to read documents and written instructions about sanitation requirements, safety rules, equipment operation and maintenance, policies, and standard operating procedures.
Able to stand for extended periods and navigate occasional wet or greasy floor conditions.
Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Able to bend, stoop, and reach frequently.
Must be able to taste and smell food to ensure quality and consistency.
