About The Position

The Precooked Line Worker prepares and packages products in the precooked area. The role includes inspecting and arranging products throughout the cooking and freezing process, adding fillings, folding omelets or squares, counting patties, and preparing cases with boxes and bags. The worker performs sanitation duties as needed and follows food safety, food quality, GMP, and personnel safety requirements.

This position is based at Michael Foods, Inc. in Gaylord, Minnesota. The second-shift schedule is 1:45 p.m.–10:30 p.m. or 3:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m. The pay range is $18.36 to $21.16 per hour.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and recognize similarities and differences between words and series of numbers.
• Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
• Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and multiply and divide with 10s and 100s.
• Ability to perform calculations using American units of money, weight, volume, and distance.
• Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished orally.

Responsibilities

• Inspect product coming out of ovens for proper size, shape, color, and weight to ensure specifications are met.
• Realign products before they enter the freezer so frozen products have a flat, smooth, uniform shape.
• Inspect products before they reach the robot and sort out damaged or nonconforming products.
• Perform sanitation duties as necessary.
• Add filling to products that require it.
• Fold omelets or squares.
• Count patties and place the proper number in each case.
• Assemble boxes and insert bags.
• Follow safe work practices and GMPs, maintain sanitary conditions, and help ensure product quality.
• Report conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality, or personnel safety to management.
• Take responsibility for the food safety and food quality of MFI products.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
