About The Position

The Pre-Press Technician maintains systems and procedures for handling internal print plates, cutting dies, and inks, and oversees inventory and maintenance activities in the prepress area. The role reports to the Production Supervisor and works in a production-floor setting. It involves extended periods of standing and/or sitting, lifting up to 50 pounds, repetitive back-and-forth arm movements while handling cutting dies, printing plates, and ink buckets, and operating a scissor lift, forklift, and golf cart.

Responsibilities

Oversee ordering of inks, bases, additives, die-mounting supplies, office supplies, and other items related to ink production and inventory.
Mount and repair printing plates to support the production schedule.
Stage printing plates and samples for daily production runs.
Keep the storage area clean and organized.
Handle incoming new and transferred plates by staging and cataloging them in the system after the Customer Service team completes receiving inspection.
Prepare FO jackets with load tags, print cards, and FO’s.
Conduct ink inventories and prepare ink orders based on upcoming demand.
Follow required documented procedures and work instructions, including food safety programs, OSHA regulations, and designated PPE requirements.
Maintain samples for the color-matching process.
Communicate with all departments promptly via Slack and email, and use Monday.com for projects.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager.
