About The Position

York Container, an Atlantic Packaging Company, is an industry leader in the manufacture of performance-based brown box, multi-color display-ready and e-commerce corrugated packaging to some of the most well-known names in the consumer products in the world. We are in search of a highly-motivated, self-driven PREPRESS TECHNICIAN to join our successful teams!

Requirements

• High School diploma, GED or minimum of five years in Ink or Prepress production experience.
• Proficiency in the following computer software: Windows O.S. Outlook, HRMS and CTI.
• Input knowledge of Excel, Word
• Proficiency in color theory spectrophotometry.
• Knowledge of flexographic printing and printing plates.
• Knowledge of rotary and flatbed die cutting methods.
• Windows based computer system, copy/ fax.
• X Rite color management software and probes.
• pH and viscosity, slide angle and rub testing equipment.
• Various hand tools.
• Employees are expected to follow all facility safety guidelines that include adhering to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and Food Safety as outlined during their training.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the Prepress department’s fulfillment of day to day ink demands.
• Dispense ink for 24-hour production schedule
• Handle requests for new formulations
• Maintain color standard library
• Maintain ink inventory at appropriate levels
• Clean and maintain ink dispensing equipment
• Report on old inventory and coordinate ink rework
• Assist with color matching and troubleshooting on press
• Assist in plant technical training programs.
• Provide backup coverage in Prepress as needed
