About The Position

This is not your traditional used car buyer role. Best Ford is looking for a digitally fluent, data-driven Pre-Owned Vehicle Acquisition Specialist to source and purchase pre-owned inventory across a wide range of online and digital channels — without ever stepping foot in a physical auction lane. You will work from a desk, armed with multiple screens, real-time market data tools, and direct access to the nation’s largest digital wholesale and retail platforms. Your job is to find the right car, at the right price, at the right time — and your eye for value will directly drive the profitability of our pre-owned operation. If you are equally comfortable analyzing market trends and discovering a deal as you are navigating online platforms and digital tools, this role was built for you.

Requirements

  • Prior automotive dealership experience required — sales, used car management, or appraisal background strongly preferred
  • Highly computer proficient with the ability to navigate multiple platforms, tools, and data sources simultaneously
  • Experience with online auction platforms (Manheim, ADESA, OVE, TradeRev, or similar) strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge of vehicle valuation tools: Black Book, MMR, KBB, vAuto, or equivalent
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret market data and make confident, fast purchasing decisions
  • Excellent detail skills and a sharp eye for vehicle value and condition
  • Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage a high volume of simultaneous sourcing activity
  • Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, data-heavy environment
  • High school diploma or equivalent required

Responsibilities

  • Source and purchase pre-owned vehicles through online auction platforms including Manheim, ADESA, OVE, TradeRev, and dealer-to-dealer networks
  • Monitor and bid on factory sales, manufacturer remarketing programs, and fleet/lease return channels
  • Identify and acquire vehicles through digital retail sources including Facebook Marketplace, CarGurus, AutoTrader, Cars.com, and private party listings
  • Accurately appraise and book out vehicles using Black Book, Manheim Market Report (MMR), KBB, and vAuto or similar inventory management tools
  • Analyze real-time market data to identify high-demand, high-turn inventory opportunities and avoid slow-moving segments
  • Manage transportation and logistics coordination for purchased vehicles from point of acquisition to lot arrival
  • Maintain purchasing records, track cost-to-market ratios, and report acquisition activity to management
  • Stay current on market trends, regional pricing shifts, and emerging acquisition channels
