About The Position

Twin Falls Subaru is seeking a Car Buyer, also known as a Vehicle Acquisition Specialist. This role focuses on sourcing and purchasing used vehicles rather than selling to customers. It's described as 'reverse sales' where the primary responsibility is finding and acquiring quality used cars. The ideal candidate will have experience in auction lanes, vehicle appraisal, or sales, and is looking for a role away from traditional showroom traffic.

Requirements

Knowledge of car makes, models, trims, packages, mileage trends, common issues, and market value.
Understanding of clean titles and Carfax reports.
Ability to work independently and stay organized.
Clear and honest communication skills, particularly with private sellers.
Ability to negotiate firmly but fairly.
High standards of integrity.
A valid driver's license with a clean record.

Nice To Haves

Experience in auction lanes or as an auction buyer/runner.
Experience as a used car buyer or vehicle appraiser.
Background in auto sales, service advising, wholesaling, or detail shop work.
Experience as a car enthusiast or flipper.
Previous experience in sales roles.

Responsibilities

Scour online platforms like Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, KSL, AutoTrader, and Cars.com for private-party vehicle listings.
Contact private sellers to inquire about vehicles, assess their suitability, and determine if they are worth inspecting.
Inspect vehicles in person, analyze the numbers, and make purchase offers.
Finalize deals, including handling titles, bills of sale, and payments.
Coordinate with drivers for vehicle transportation or tow the vehicle back using a provided trailer.
Meet monthly acquisition targets and earn bonuses based on the number of quality cars acquired.
