About The Position

The Pre-Litigation Case Manager Team Lead owns the phase of a case between signup and either settlement or the decision to file suit. This is a working leadership role: the lead carries a small caseload while supervising the pre-litigation case management team, setting standards, moving treatment and records forward, overseeing demand quality, and ensuring files continue to progress. The role is also a key point of contact for attorneys seeking an accurate status update on a file. The position is responsible for team performance and training, file movement and quality control, client satisfaction, workflow documentation, reporting, and clean handoffs to litigation and settlement. Performance is reviewed at 90 days, six months, and annually against measures including cycle time, demand quality, file aging, settlement results, client contact compliance, team development and retention, handoff quality, and client complaints.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of personal injury pre-litigation case management experience.
  • Prior experience supervising, training, or leading a team.
  • Strong command of medical records, treatment coordination, demand preparation, and bodily injury negotiation.
  • Working knowledge of Louisiana prescription periods and insurance coverage issues.
  • Excellent written communication, particularly demand writing.
  • Comfort managing performance and holding people accountable.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a Louisiana personal injury firm.

  • Review demand packages for completeness, accuracy, and persuasive strength before submission.
  • Own the pre-litigation aging report and drive down aging.
  • Escalate files that should be referred to litigation rather than continuing to negotiate.
