About The Position

The Pre-Apprentice assists with field operations under the guidance of experienced field professionals. The role provides hands-on experience and technical training in preparation for a formal apprenticeship or advanced field positions. The Pre-Apprentice supports field projects while learning industry-specific skills and safety protocols. The position is normally performed at a jobsite and exposes the employee to outdoor elements. The work environment is usually moderate to loud, and hearing protection may be required under certain conditions. The schedule may be flexible and may include periodic overtime and overnight travel as needed. Other duties and conditions may be subject to the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable personal transportation, and a clean driving record.
Must be able to withstand outdoor temperatures and elements.
Able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and up to 20 pounds constantly.
Able to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, and grasp for up to five hours without sitting.
May need to perform repetitive motions of the hands, wrists, and elbows.

Nice To Haves

At least one year of experience or education in construction or another technical field.

Install hangers.
Run tools and materials.
Comply with federal and state laws and regulations and Company rules.
Participate in online and in-person training and other educational opportunities.
Be reliable and accountable by reporting to work each day as required.
Perform other job-related activities requested by the immediate supervisor.
