About The Position

The Pre-Apprentice assists with field operations under the guidance of experienced field professionals. The role provides hands-on experience and technical training to prepare for a formal apprenticeship or advanced positions in the field. The employee supports field projects while learning industry-specific skills and safety protocols. The position is normally performed at a jobsite and exposes the employee to outdoor elements. Noise is usually moderate to loud, and hearing protection may be required in certain conditions. A flexible schedule, periodic overtime, and overnight travel may be required. Other duties and conditions may be subject to the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Must withstand outdoor temperatures and elements.
Valid driver’s license, reliable personal transportation, and a clean driving record.
Ability to perform moderate physical work, including occasional lifting up to 50 pounds and constant lifting up to 20 pounds.
Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, and grasp for up to five hours without sitting.
Ability to perform some repetitive motions of the hands, wrists, and elbows.

Nice To Haves

At least one year of experience or education in construction or another technical field.
