About The Position

Hartford HealthCare Medical Group is one of the largest medical practices in New England with multiple locations throughout Connecticut and Rhode Island. We consist of a team of professionals ranging from Medical Assistants to Physician Assistants and everything in between. Our physician led medical group enjoys an excellent reputation with patients and the medical community, offering primary care, urgent care and more than 30 different specialties. The Practice Manager serves as a member of the management team, collaborating on organizational business issues, communicating appropriate messages, and supporting and driving corporate initiatives. This role oversees all activities of the assigned operational practice, providing leadership and direction to direct reports and providers, and acting as a positive role model. The Practice Manager drives the development and execution of short- and long-term business plans and corresponding budgets by collaborating with physician leadership and corporate administration in strategic planning and marketing for the practice. They execute business plans by assigning accountability to appropriate staff and/or physicians, monitoring progress, making appropriate adjustments, and finding solutions to obstacles. This role continuously identifies ways to increase profitability by recommending and implementing cost-effective strategies for the department, and maximizes efficiency, productivity, and resource allocation. They respond promptly and effectively to patient and provider concerns, evaluate workflow and performance to maximize productivity/efficiency and ensure quality service, and analyze data reports and act on significant trends affecting overall effectiveness of the department. The Practice Manager finds opportunities to grow the business through increased referrals, new or increased services, regional expansion, or other revenue-enhancing activities, and drives improvement efforts through effective staff and provider involvement, project management, and communication, implementing changes and keeping staff and providers up to date with clear and concise communications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare management or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 3-5 years medical practice management experience, preferably in a multi-site practice
  • Experience providing effective business leadership to physicians
  • Ability to refine, reorganize or redirect workflow in a timely manner to optimize resources
