About The Position

SourcePro Search is seeking a Practice Group Marketing Specialist for a top-ranked global law firm. This role, which can be based in San Francisco, New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Washington, DC, Boston, or San Diego, involves close collaboration with attorneys and marketing team members to support business development and marketing activities for the TTG, Comp & Ben, and Tax practice groups. The primary objective is to drive revenue and enhance brand through new business opportunities and client expansion programs. Key activities include managing pitches and proposals, events and sponsorships, sales pipeline management, client initiatives, market research, visibility efforts, and business development coaching. The specialist will work with attorneys to fulfill marketing and business development requests in alignment with the firm's strategy.

Requirements

  • Minimum three (3) years in a marketing-related field.
  • Proficiency in Firm marketing systems software (e.g., CRM tool (Salesforce), WordPress, Sitecore, SCORE database) after training.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and support marketing and business development plans in conjunction with management and practice group leaders to achieve business goals.
  • Support strategic business development and sales plans that result in measurable business growth, focusing on client retention, cross-selling, and new client cultivation.
  • Identify practice group targets and prospects.
  • Lead programs, events, and sponsorships to drive revenue and promote the firm's brand.
  • Guide practice-specific strategies and tactics, acting as a liaison between the practice group and other marketing functions.
  • Coordinate practice group marketing activities with adjacent business development efforts across the firm.
  • Lead responses to RFPs/RFIs, pitches, and proposals, including drafting initial responses and providing strategic direction.
  • Identify market trends and analyze market share against competitors to inform targeting and business planning.
  • Assess, identify, initiate, support, and execute efforts to cultivate new business opportunities through targeting exercises and cross-selling/expansion initiatives.
  • Collaborate with marketing managers and partners to formulate and implement business development policies and procedures.
  • Conduct business research and relationship searches.
  • Coordinate and participate in business development training sessions.
  • Serve as the point of contact for business development/sales support for practice group attorneys.
  • Provide input and recommendations on marketing programs and budget spend for the business department.
  • Identify, support, and manage networking, speaking, conference, and event sponsorship opportunities aligned with practice business plans.
  • Serve as a relationship manager with key business/industry/trade/partnership organizations.
  • Collaborate with communications and creative services teams on internal and external communications projects, including media opportunities and thought leadership activities.
  • Work with marketing team members to execute in-person and virtual hosted events, client receptions, and alumni programs.
  • Drive, manage, track, and evaluate the ROI on various programming initiatives.
  • Champion firm branding and related standards on creative services projects.
  • Serve as a knowledge base for all practice group marketing efforts and resources.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in the relevant industry and service lines, understanding core clients, targets, and buying patterns.
  • Develop and maintain marketing materials and collateral.
  • Utilize firm technologies and services for data management, including external research databases (CRM, SCORE, Pitchbook, Capital IQ, etc.).
  • Lead deal tracking and reporting efforts for the practice.
  • Support lateral attorney orientation and onboarding.
  • Project manage and execute research projects, cross-selling initiatives, and complex pitches/RFPs, providing status updates.
  • Role model the use of the CRM tool (Salesforce) for managing the sales pipeline and practice group business development.
