About The Position

Observation, reflection, and practice teaching in the primary/junior division classrooms as identified by the regulations of the Ontario Ministry of Education and the Ontario College of Teachers; associate teacher provides mentoring and feedback as well as formative and summative evaluations of teacher candidates. In Teacher Education, Hybrid means that all courses include ten in-person sessions offered on campus at the University of Ottawa (30 in-person instructional hours) and two online course modules, delivered through Brightspace, which provide the equivalent of 6 instructional hours.

Requirements

  • Masters degree in education
  • Qualification in a field related to teaching in schools in Ontario
  • Recent experience in teaching in a school or working in administration of a school board at the Primary Junior level
  • Knowledge of the current Ontario Curriculum and of the Ethical Standards and Standards of Practice of the Ontario College of Teachers
  • An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.
