About The Position

EQL Tech is partnering with a stealth, early-stage physical AI health startup to bring on a Contract PR & Marketing Lead for a 1-3 month engagement. The company uses real-world sensor data (wearables, ECG, video) to generate clinical-grade health insights. The founders have prior experience with FDA-cleared AI, have active enterprise customers, are in advanced discussions for a major commercial partnership, and are set to close a seed round in Q3/Q4 2026. The role is to bridge the gap between the company's advanced technology and its current public-facing narrative, which is currently undersold on the website, with founders not yet visible online and no press-ready materials for upcoming announcements.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of taking a technical company from invisible to credible, with demonstrable before/after work.
  • Exceptional writing skills, capable of translating complex clinical AI information into accessible language for buyers, journalists, and investors.
  • AI or health-tech fluency strongly preferred; genuine interest in the space is essential.
  • Ability to execute independently without a brief, given direct founder access and full creative latitude.
  • Comfortable working without a brief.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior fractional CMO or agency leadership experience.
  • Portfolio work in regulated or clinical spaces.
  • Existing relationships with health-tech or AI press.
  • Bay Area preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Reposition the website messaging to clearly articulate what the company does and its significance.
  • Build the founders' LinkedIn presence into a credible and consistent channel.
  • Establish the company's social media cadence and voice.
  • Prepare press and partner-facing materials for upcoming announcements regarding the seed round and partnership news.
  • Develop a playbook for the team to utilize after the engagement concludes.
