About The Position

Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory has multiple openings for undergraduate students in its Cyber and Critical Infrastructure Summer Institute (CSI), working on power systems resilience and security topics aligned with LLNL’s national security missions. The 2027 summer program has start dates ranging from May 17, 2027, through June 21, 2027, and flexible end dates through September 24, 2027. CSI offers selected students the opportunity to apply their skills to projects involving energy infrastructure modernization and resilience, critical infrastructure security, and defense critical infrastructure. Participants can also take part in professional and technical development with laboratory subject matter experts, network with interns and employees, and learn about LLNL’s support for U.S. national security. The intern provides technical and/or research support to projects related to power systems, critical infrastructure, cybersecurity, and associated fields, working with scientists, engineers, and technical staff. Under close supervision, the intern participates in assigned research, gathers and analyzes information, contributes to research planning and evaluation discussions, attends at least one relevant seminar or training class each week, and presents work in at least one seminar or poster. The position may involve other duties as assigned.
