About The Position

Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory has multiple openings for graduate students in its Cyber and Critical Infrastructure Summer Institute (CSI). Interns work on topics related to critical infrastructure security and resilience that align with LLNL’s national security missions, including critical infrastructure risk analysis and security, energy infrastructure modernization and resilience, and defense critical infrastructure. The 2027 program runs during the summer, with start dates ranging from May 17, 2027, to June 21, 2027, and flexible end dates through September 24, 2027. The program offers professional and technical development activities with Laboratory subject matter experts, opportunities to network with other interns and Laboratory employees, and exposure to LLNL’s support for U.S. national security. Interns provide technical or research support to projects, conduct research under limited direction and supervision, attend at least one relevant on-site seminar or training class per week, and present their work through presentations or poster sessions. This is an onsite student internship. The work is subject to U.S. export control requirements and must be performed by a U.S. person.
