About The Position

Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory has multiple openings for undergraduate students in its Cyber and Critical Infrastructure Summer Institute (CSI). Interns work on cybersecurity topics aligned with LLNL’s national security missions, including developing and implementing tools and capabilities to mitigate advanced threats and supporting the cybersecurity of civilian and defense critical infrastructure. The 2027 program runs during the summer, with start dates from May 17, 2027, through June 21, 2027, and flexible end dates through September 24, 2027. Interns receive professional and technical development opportunities with laboratory subject matter experts, network with other interns and laboratory employees, and learn about LLNL’s support for U.S. national security. They provide supervised technical and research support, gather and analyze information for scientific research, participate in research planning and evaluation, attend at least one seminar or training class per week, and present their work in at least one seminar or poster. The role is in LLNL’s Engineering organization and is designated as a student internship.
