About The Position

As a Power HVAC Mechanic in United Rentals’ Power/HVAC division, you will perform maintenance tasks and minor repairs on equipment safely and professionally. The role includes maintaining and repairing diesel engines, HVAC equipment, and dehumidification and air purification equipment. You will also provide exceptional customer service and may have opportunities to progress to higher-level Technician roles in the Service Department.

This position is designated Safety Sensitive under United Rentals’ policies and procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of experience repairing and maintaining diesel engines or HVAC equipment.
• Intermediate diagnostic and repair skills for mechanical, hydraulic, diesel, pneumatic, and other systems.
• Basic understanding of schematics and diagrams.
• Own the tools applicable to the position.
• Superior customer service, teamwork, and verbal and written communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to frequently lift items weighing up to 45 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on rental and customer equipment and tools.
• Complete service documentation.
• Travel to customer sites occasionally.
• Demonstrate equipment to customers.
• Assist with equipment and parts pickup and delivery.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
