About The Position

The Power HVAC Mechanic (Service Tech II) works in United Rentals’ Power/HVAC division, performing maintenance and minor repairs on equipment safely and professionally. The role maintains and repairs diesel engines, HVAC equipment, and dehumidification and air purification equipment. It also involves providing exceptional customer service, documenting service work, occasional travel to customer sites, demonstrating equipment, and assisting with equipment and parts pickup and delivery. The position is identified as Safety Sensitive. The role offers the potential to progress to higher-level technician roles in the Service Department.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
1–2 years of experience repairing and maintaining diesel engines or HVAC equipment.
Intermediate diagnostic and repair skills for mechanical, hydraulic, diesel, pneumatic, and other systems.
Basic understanding of schematics and diagrams.
Own the tools applicable to the position.
Superior customer service, teamwork, and verbal and written communication skills.
Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.

Responsibilities

Maintain and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on a variety of rental and customer equipment and tools.
Complete service documentation.
Travel occasionally to customer sites.
Demonstrate equipment for customers.
Assist with pickup and delivery of equipment and parts.
Perform other duties as assigned.
