About The Position

The Power HVAC Mechanic (Service Tech II) works in United Rentals’ Power/HVAC division, performing equipment maintenance and minor repairs safely and professionally. The role involves maintaining and repairing diesel engines, HVAC equipment, and dehumidification and air-purification equipment. The mechanic is expected to provide exceptional customer service and may have opportunities to progress to higher-level technician roles in the Service Department.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
1–2 years of experience repairing and maintaining diesel engines or HVAC equipment.
Intermediate diagnostic and repair skills for mechanical, hydraulic, diesel, pneumatic, and other systems.
Basic understanding of schematics and diagrams.
Own the tools applicable to the position.
Superior customer service, teamwork, and verbal and written communication skills.
Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.

Responsibilities

Maintain and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on a variety of rental and customer equipment and tools.
Complete service documentation.
Travel occasionally to customer sites.
Demonstrate equipment for customers.
Assist with equipment and parts pick-up and delivery.
Perform other duties as assigned.
