About The Position

Sunbelt Rentals is hiring a Pump and Power Road Technician 2 to troubleshoot and diagnose complex mechanical and electrical equipment problems, perform advanced and complex repairs on all types of equipment, and assess customers’ needs to provide solutions. The technician may lead and train other team members in equipment repair when a Shop Foreman or Service Manager is absent. The role involves working with pump and power equipment and may require working indoors or outdoors, depending on the job.

Requirements

• 5–7 years of experience repairing and maintaining Pump & Power equipment.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• DOT Physical Examination (medical card).
• EPA Section 608 Universal Certification.
• Advanced understanding and repair skills for mechanical, electrical, and diesel equipment, generators, HVAC, and air compressors.
• Advanced understanding of refrigeration (EPA certified).
• Mastery of load bank repairs.
• Advanced understanding of electrical engines and controllers.
• Advanced operation of dehumidification equipment from CDI and Munters.
• The role requires bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, and lifting 25 pounds or more.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with and comprehension of VFDs, VSDs, soft starts, and “across the line” motor starting.
• Some factory diesel, generator, compressor, or HVAC training.
