Field Service Technician - Level 2
About The Position
Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Road Mechanic, also described as a road mechanic/technician, to perform preventive maintenance, diagnose equipment problems, and make advanced repairs at customer locations. The role helps reduce equipment downtime by completing work safely and effectively. The fleet varies by location and may include aerial work platforms, general construction tools and equipment, and, at specialty-line locations, large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC systems, and oil and gas equipment. The position offers work on varied equipment in remote locations, on-the-job training, and potential career development in service or operations management.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
- Knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- The role's physical demands include bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 50 pounds or more, and working indoors or outdoors as required.
Nice To Haves
- Some trade school or equivalent training.
- One to two years of mechanic experience with diesel equipment, heavy construction equipment, or specialty-line equipment such as large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC, or oil and gas equipment.
- Mechanic's tools of the trade may need to be provided.
- Bilingual ability (Spanish or another language) may be required depending on location.
- A CDL may be required in some locations.
