About The Position

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Road Mechanic to perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on rental equipment safely and effectively to minimize downtime. The fleet varies by location and may include aerial work platforms, general construction tools and equipment, large-scale power generators, pumps, HVAC systems, and oil and gas equipment. The role may involve working on varied equipment in remote locations and in a safety-focused environment. Some locations may require a CDL and bilingual ability, depending on local needs. Employees may need to provide their own mechanic’s tools of the trade.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
Knowledge of hydraulic systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
Knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Must be able to bend, squat, crouch, reach, lift 50 pounds or more, and work indoors or outdoors when required.
A CDL license may be required in some locations.
Bilingual ability (Spanish or another language) may be required based on location needs.

Nice To Haves

Some trade school or equivalent training desired.
3–5 years of mechanic experience with diesel equipment, heavy construction equipment, or specialty lines equipment such as large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC, or oil and gas equipment is strongly preferred.
May need to provide mechanic’s tools of the trade.
