Poultry Vaccination Technician
About The Position
This role plays a critical part in the overall success of the farm operations within the vaccination department. This department has primary responsibilities for the animal care and welfare of the birds. Work with day-old chicks. Must be able to work with live animals and the associated environment. Must follow Animal Care Standards, Animal Welfare Guidelines, and Bio-Security policies and procedures. Ability to work with chemicals such as detergents, disinfectants, etc. Must perform essential duties in a safe and efficient manner as trained. Must be able to be around farm-related smells or odors and loud/noisy environment. We play a leading role in feeding the world's future generations. Requirements
- Ability to understand oral and written instructions and perform simple tasks
- Ability to perform work that is repetitive in nature
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to grip, grasp, or twist using hands and wrist
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull up to 50lbs
- Bend and stoop throughout the shift
Nice To Haves
- Animal husbandry experience preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Collect birds for moving, weighing, and vaccinations
- Collect blood samples, band/tag or remove tags from birds
