About The Position

This role plays a critical part in the overall success of the farm operations within the vaccination crew. This crew has primary responsibilities for the animal care and welfare of the birds. The job involves working with day-old chicks, collecting birds for moving, weighing, and vaccinations, and handling live animals in their associated environment. Responsibilities include collecting blood samples, banding/tagging or removing tags from birds, and adhering to Animal Care Standards, Animal Welfare Guidelines, and Bio-Security policies and procedures. The role also requires the ability to work with chemicals such as detergents and disinfects, and to perform essential duties safely and efficiently as trained. The environment may include farm-related smells, odors, and loud/noisy conditions. The position may require working up to 6 days a week, including weekends and holidays.

Requirements

• Ability to understand oral and written instructions and perform simple tasks
• Ability to perform work that is repetitive in nature
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Ability to grip, grasp, or twist using hands and wrist
• Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull up to 50lbs
• Bend and stoop throughout the shift
• Ability to work with live animals and the associated environment
• Ability to work with chemicals such as detergents, disinfects, etc.
