Poultry Vaccination Technician
About The Position
This role plays a critical part in the overall success of the farm operations within the vaccination crew. This crew has primary responsibilities for the animal care and welfare of the birds. The job involves working with day-old chicks, collecting birds for moving, weighing, and vaccinations, and collecting blood samples, banding/tagging or removing tags from birds. The position requires following Animal Care Standards, Animal Welfare Guidelines, and Bio-Security policies and procedures. The role also involves working with chemicals such as detergents and disinfects, and performing essential duties safely and efficiently as trained. The environment may include farm-related smells, odors, and loud/noisy conditions. The role may require working up to 6 days a week, including weekends and holidays.
Requirements
- Ability to understand oral and written instructions and perform simple tasks
- Ability to perform work that is repetitive in nature
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to grip, grasp, or twist using hands and wrist
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull up to 50lbs
- Bend and stoop throughout the shift
