The Sweis Laboratory for Translational Neuroeconomics at Mount Sinai studies the neural mechanisms underlying decision-making and motivated behavior. Established in 2024, the laboratory combines large-scale animal behavioral studies, in vivo physiology, circuit manipulation, systems neuroscience, computational approaches, and translational models relevant to psychiatric disorders. Its research is funded by the NIH. The Postdoctoral Fellow will lead independent and collaborative research projects, designing and conducting experiments with neural recording and manipulation tools, analyzing high-dimensional datasets, and contributing to translational research. The position is funded for two years and may be extended based on performance and funding availability. The fellow is expected to pursue independent funding and develop independent research projects in preparation for transition to research independence. The research includes generating and analyzing behavioral and physiology data for funded projects on decision-making, information processing, and behavior in rodents, including recording from and perturbing reward-related circuits during neuroeconomic decision-making. The laboratory offers a collaborative and supportive culture, mentorship and career development, fellowship application opportunities, and scope to develop independent research. The position is based at 1468 Madison Ave, Annenberg 22-76, New York, NY 10029, in the Department of Psychiatry, and reports to Brian Sweis, MD, PhD.
