The Postdoctoral Fellow will investigate activity-dependent mechanisms of histone monoaminylation, a novel mark discovered by the Maze lab and mediated by transglutaminase enzymes. The research aims to determine molecular mechanisms contributing to activity-dependent histone monoaminylation in the central nervous system. The work will examine transglutaminase nuclear shuttling, complex binding, and recruitment to chromatin, as well as histone monoaminylation deposition, removal, and exchange. Research will use biochemical, molecular, genomic, proteomic, and behavioral approaches. The position is in the Neuroscience Department at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, with a physical work location at Hess CSM, 1470 Madison Avenue, S9-201, New York, NY 10029. The role is supervised by Ian Maze, PhD.
