About The Position

The AIRO Lab seeks a highly motivated and talented Postdoctoral Research Fellow or Research Scientist to conduct research on fixed-wing aerial robots capable of safe, agile vision-based flight. The lab investigates methods at the intersection of computational control, machine learning, and computational physics. The selected candidate will support the lab’s development of highly agile robotic systems that can operate under changing environmental conditions and challenging fluid flows. Research directions of interest include GPU-accelerated safe stochastic feedback motion planning for agile flight, machine learning for vision-based navigation in uncertain dynamic environments, and control of agile autonomous vehicles governed by complex fluid flows.

Requirements

• PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
• Expertise in computational control, motion planning, machine learning, and the dynamics of agile robotic systems.
• Strong software development background, especially in C++ and CUDA.
• Experience working with robotic hardware systems, especially aerial robotic systems.
• Experience mentoring junior researchers and scientists.

Responsibilities
