About The Position

The Portfolio Manager underwrites credit exposure for less complex relationships and actively manages a portfolio of Dealer Services relationships. The role includes day-to-day client interaction, portfolio risk management, and compliance with regulatory requirements. A critical focus is identifying emerging credit concerns, sector trends, funding pressures, governance issues, liquidity challenges, and changes in donor, grant, reimbursement, or program revenue patterns. The position leads commercial underwriting from start to finish, including underwriting, structuring, and documenting transactions. It independently manages complex deals and large credit relationships, performs in-depth financial analysis, identifies and mitigates risks, recommends loan structures, and evaluates regulatory compliance requirements. It also manages assigned portfolios through performance monitoring, annual reviews, risk-rating integrity, financial statement analysis, amendments, waivers, and remediation of issues. The Portfolio Manager expands client relationships through direct calling efforts and collaborates with internal product partners to develop suitable credit solutions. The role partners with Investment Banking peers, maintains expertise in banking solutions and market trends, shares relevant industry information, and manages deal-team tasks using assigned Associates and Analysts. It also mentors junior team members and contributes to performance reviews for Analysts and Associates. The position provides independent risk recommendations, with final approval made by the ultimate risk approval officer.
