About The Position

The A220 commercial aircraft Programme is looking for a Portfolio Manager Competitiveness - Aerostructure, to join our Program department based in Mirabel (Québec, Canada). You will be part of the Competitiveness Management Team who is responsible for driving and monitoring all activities aiming at continuously improving the Competitiveness of the A220 programme. This covers commercial negotiations, redesign to cost activities, manufacturing optimisations and any other initiatives intending to reduce the recurring cost of the aircraft. Within the team, you will be particularly in charge of a part of the “Aerostructure” perimeter. The team organization is established to promote cross-collaboration autonomously, supporting each other and learning collectively.

Requirements

  • You hold a university degree in a relevant field (administration, finance, project management or other);
  • You have at least ten (10) years of relevant experience in the aviation or industrial industry;
  • You have project management skills and ideally a Programme, Finance or Procurement experience;
  • You have a strong customer focused approach, and have teamwork, leadership, influence, communication and interpersonal skills;
  • You have a strong and convincing personality, and are at ease interfacing with and challenging executives while maintaining a collaborative environment;
  • You are at ease in complex ecosystems and capable of applying program management principles;
  • You have business acumen and are at ease handling financial figures;
  • You are proficient in French and English, in speaking and writing.

Responsibilities

  • Represent the competitiveness program within Procurement Multi-Functional Teams (MFT) for Aerostructure.
  • Manage the competitiveness projects portfolio related to the covered scope
  • Contribute to the identification of cost reduction projects.
  • Propose priority and funding trade-offs between projects.
  • Ensure the achievement of recurring and non-recurring cost objectives for funded projects by maximizing their financial return on investment.
  • Ensure the robustness of risk and opportunity management (quantification and mitigation plan) carried out by the various project teams;
  • Gather relevant information, formulate recommendations, and submit them to Airbus Canada’s senior management for decision-making.
