About The Position

The Portfolio Delivery Leader is accountable for collaboratively designing, aligning, and delivering a prioritized portfolio roadmap. The role builds trusted relationships with business stakeholders and ensures technology investments support strategic objectives and deliver measurable value. As a strategic partner to business digital leaders, the leader ensures the right teams, capabilities, and processes are in place to deliver high-impact, high-quality solutions. The role champions an integrated delivery model that strengthens business engagement, accelerates decisions, and improves portfolio transparency. The position leads and oversees solution delivery using advanced technologies, including AI, and ensures teams apply current technology design practices, standards, and methodologies. It is accountable for team performance, delivery excellence, and continuous improvement, while fostering shared ownership, quality outcomes, and operational efficiency. The leader oversees custom, cloud, and hybrid solutions, delivery governance, and stakeholder expectations, and advances partnerships with business leaders to solve business problems. RSM describes most roles as following a hybrid workstyle, with team members aligned to an RSM office and meeting in person when it best supports clients, teams, development, or relationship-building. Some roles may be virtual or primarily on-site based on role requirements, team priorities, and client needs. The position’s stated compensation range is $158,600–$281,600, with eligibility for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent experience in software engineering, cloud, or a technology leadership role.
Solid understanding of Microsoft Azure cloud architecture and administration.
Experience building on-premise, off-premise, and hybrid solutions.
Strong understanding of business processes and experience building business solutions.
Strong conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Understanding of current development technologies.
Experience managing Agile SAFe development teams delivering complex business solutions.
Strong mentoring and training skills.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and influencing skills, with an approachable demeanor.
At least 5 years of experience leading matrixed delivery teams, building strategic roadmaps, and providing effective business alignment.
Experience in solution development and governance.
At least 10 years of experience building enterprise-class on-premise, off-premise, and hybrid solutions.
At least 5 years of experience developing and maintaining policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines.
Strong business knowledge in Audit, Tax, Consulting, and/or the firm’s internal functions.
Strong experience with Agile SAFe.
Knowledge and experience with Application Lifecycle Management using Microsoft Team Foundation Server.
Experience presenting to C-level executives and boards of directors.
Proficiency in performing and reporting risk and business impact.
Knowledge and experience developing and documenting cloud architecture and plans, including strategic, tactical, and project plans.
Knowledge and experience leading teams focused on Azure cloud and related cloud technologies.
Ability to determine when customization, development, or additional commercial products are required.
Hands-on experience with large-scale Azure implementations in an enterprise environment, including deploying applications for scale, monitoring and supporting Azure disaster recovery, and performance tuning and optimization.
Ability to work effectively with business managers, IT engineering, and IT operations staff.
Ability to influence without authority and build relationships across business lines, functional areas, and outside vendors.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including communicating effectively across the organization.
Ability to drive delivery, motivate teams, and help establish realistic timelines, roadmaps, and goals.
Demonstrated ownership, leadership by example, and ability to create and motivate high-performing teams.

Responsibilities

Build trusted stakeholder relationships to shape portfolio roadmaps, prioritize initiatives by business value, and provide transparent visibility into delivery progress and effectiveness.
Lead client-facing product teams that design, implement, support, and maintain custom solutions integrated with internal and external systems.
Apply knowledge of assigned business lines, cross-business areas, or functions to align solutions with strategic goals.
Drive accountability for streamlining delivery workflows through AI, automation, and modern delivery tools.
Lead in-house and third-party teams in combining cloud and hybrid platform offerings into reliable, scalable, high-value solutions.
Establish and oversee processes that support reliable, collaborative delivery for business and digital solutions teams.
Standardize Agile and SAFe practices and collaborate with Scrum Masters, Release Train Engineers, and Agile Coaches to uphold SAFe principles and maximize velocity.
Improve Agile and SAFe practices to increase delivery efficiency and team performance.
Oversee advanced product, AI, and cloud platform development and governance, while managing stakeholder expectations and advancing business partnerships.
Identify leading practices for platform security, data integrity, service quality, scalability, privacy, risk mitigation, disaster recovery, control, and monitoring.
Lead teams in adhering to best practices, standards, and policies during execution.
Lead process optimization efforts and provide regular performance reporting.
Lead delivery teams, motivate team members, and contribute to realistic timelines, roadmaps, and goals.
Serve as a cloud technology leader and subject-matter expert for project and application development teams, management, and business personnel.
