About The Position

The Project and Portfolio Management group is seeking an Associate Director of Decision Support & Enablement supporting Veterinary Medicine Research & Development (VMRD). The role supports R&D business decision-making by providing data and analysis that improve decision speed and quality. It partners with stakeholders across the organization to create and deliver data-driven business cases, design and implement effective data-informed business processes, and develop implementation plans that include stakeholder management, training, and communication. It also ensures Decision Support teams have the tools and reports needed to work effectively and efficiently. The position transforms complex data insights into actionable strategies and works to ensure those insights produce measurable business impact. It uses portfolio and project performance information, key performance indicators, and other data to identify trends and opportunities, recommend improvements, and support leadership decisions. The role reports to the Director, Business Operations & Decision Support and collaborates with other Zoetis divisions, including commercial and manufacturing.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a science or business field.
At least 10 years of professional-level experience in business analytics and stakeholder engagement.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with staff at all organizational levels.
Demonstrated influencing and interpersonal skills to lead change in a complex setting.
Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills.
Experience with data analytics and project management systems, such as Power BI and Microsoft Project.
Demonstrated ability to aggregate and analyze large data sets.
Organizational and problem-solving skills, and strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

Provide data and analysis to support R&D business decisions and improve decision speed and quality across the organization.
Partner with stakeholders at all organizational levels to develop and deliver data-driven business cases.
Design, optimize, and implement business processes that use available data and insights to improve efficiency.
Develop process implementation plans that address stakeholder management, training, and communication.
Ensure Decision Support teams have the tools and reports needed to work effectively and efficiently.
Turn complex data insights into actionable strategies that drive business outcomes.
Use key performance indicators and other data to propose, create, and implement process improvements in areas including system utilization and data quality, resource planning and utilization, project planning and execution, and expense forecasting and management.
Collect and analyze innovation portfolio and project performance data to identify trends, variances, and insights; present findings and recommendations to leadership.
Own and drive the strategy for improved resource estimation and forecasting for R&D project execution, providing resource information to help teams balance workloads and prioritize work.
Develop methods for signaling and communicating portfolio dynamics to leadership, with recommendations that inform resource allocation and portfolio focus.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align expectations and gain buy-in for process changes.
Facilitate workshops, influence stakeholders, and drive process improvements using leadership and facilitation skills.
Work with commercial, manufacturing, and other Zoetis divisions on innovation portfolio pipeline data analytics.
