About The Position

The Portfolio Strategy & Operations group is seeking an Associate Director of Decision Support & Enablement to support Veterinary Medicine Research & Development (VMRD). The role supports R&D decision-making throughout the organization by providing data and analysis that improve the speed and quality of decisions. It partners with stakeholders across organizational levels to develop data-driven business cases and designs, optimizes, and implements data-informed business processes. The position also develops implementation plans that address stakeholder management, training, and communication, and ensures Decision Support teams have the tools and reports needed to work effectively and efficiently. The successful candidate will turn complex data insights into actionable strategies and ensure those insights lead to measurable business impact. The role analyzes innovation portfolio and project performance, develops resource estimation and forecasting approaches, communicates portfolio dynamics to leadership, and collaborates across functions and divisions to improve portfolio outcomes.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a science or business field.
At least 10 years of professional-level experience in business analytics and stakeholder engagement.
Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with staff at all organizational levels.
Demonstrated influencing and interpersonal skills to lead change in a complex setting.
Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills.
Experience with data analytics and project management systems, such as Power BI and Microsoft Project.
Demonstrated ability to aggregate and analyze large data sets.
Organizational, problem-solving, and strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

Provide data and analysis to support R&D business decision-making and improve decision speed and quality.
Partner with stakeholders at all organizational levels to create and deliver data-driven business cases.
Design, optimize, and implement business processes that use available data and insights to improve work efficiency.
Develop process implementation plans, including stakeholder management, training, and communication.
Ensure Decision Support teams have the tools and reports needed to work effectively and efficiently.
Use key performance indicators and other data to propose, create, and implement process improvements related to system utilization and data quality, resource planning and utilization, project planning and execution, and expense forecasting and management.
Collect and analyze innovation portfolio and project performance data to identify trends, variances, and insights, and present recommendations to leadership.
Own and drive the strategy for improved resource estimation and forecasting for R&D project execution, providing resources to help teams balance workloads and prioritize work.
Develop methods for signaling and communicating portfolio dynamics to leadership and recommend changes to resource allocation and portfolio focus.
Collaborate on cross-functional teams to align expectations and secure buy-in for process changes.
Use leadership and facilitation skills to guide workshops, influence stakeholders, and drive process improvements.
Collaborate with other Zoetis divisions, including commercial and manufacturing, on innovation portfolio pipeline data analytics.
