About The Position

C+C Apartment Management LLC is hiring a Porter to support the physical maintenance and appearance of residential properties. The role includes cleaning and maintaining public and exterior areas, managing garbage and recycling, assisting with vacant-apartment preparation, performing minor repairs, and keeping work areas and company equipment in good condition. The Porter works with the Superintendent and other staff, communicates when service requests cannot be completed, and interacts professionally and courteously with residents, coworkers, and the public. The position may involve additional duties assigned by the Superintendent or management.

Requirements

Ability to function both inside and outside in all types of weather.
Ability to perform medium to heavy work involving prolonged or repeated standing, walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and lifting up to 100 pounds, with frequent lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
Good eye-hand coordination.
Basic knowledge of janitorial procedures.
Ability to interact with residents and handle complaints with reasonable discretion.
Knowledge of floor care.

Nice To Haves

One to two years of experience in maintenance and/or construction is ideal.
ALC lead paint certification.

Responsibilities

Remove garbage and recycling and prepare it for sanitation pickup.
Know and comply with e-cycle regulations and building-wide recycling obligations, including checking and sorting recycling when necessary.
Sweep, mop, buff, and wax interior public halls, stairwells, and lobby areas.
Sweep and wash sidewalks and exterior passageways.
Assist with preparing vacant apartments for occupancy.
Perform minor repairs.
Notify the Superintendent when service requests cannot be completed.
Maintain the workshop and storage area in a clean, neat, and orderly fashion.
Keep company tools and equipment properly maintained and in good working order.
Maintain the physical condition and appearance of vacant units, public areas, hallways, grounds maintenance areas, offices, and laundry areas.
Maintain a professional, courteous attitude when dealing with residents, coworkers, and the general public.
Work with the Superintendent and staff to complete assignments in a timely manner.
Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
Perform snow removal and use equipment such as power floor cleaners, carpet shampoo machines, and power drain cleaners.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
