About The Position
CareOne at Newton is hiring a Porter in Newton, Massachusetts. The Porter helps maintain a clean, orderly, safe, and healthy facility by cleaning the facility and its furnishings, removing trash, replenishing restroom and housekeeping supplies, and maintaining equipment. The role includes following operating instructions and security regulations, performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, and requesting repairs as needed. The Porter is also expected to participate in educational opportunities and take ownership of new requests and ways to add value to the work. Compensation is $16.75–$19.75 per hour, based in part on experience, qualifications, credentials, employment status, and work schedule. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One year of related experience.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the facility through cleaning, dusting, vacuuming, and polishing.
- Remove miscellaneous debris and trash.
- Clean restroom areas, including toilets and sinks, and refill hand towel and toilet paper dispensers.
- Wash and vacuum floors.
- Dust and polish furniture and clean and polish glass surfaces.
- Restock housekeeping supplies and order new supplies as needed.
- Keep equipment operating by following instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs.
- Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures and complying with security regulations.
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
- Accept ownership of new and different requests and explore opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
